Michael Flanagan is a filmmaker from McAllen, TX. Michael works as a Project Manager for the River Pierce Foundation, covers visual art for Glasstire, and teaches courses in Media Production at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. His films have been screened internationally at spaces including the Buffalo AKG Art Museum in New York, the Laemmle Theater in Los Angeles, Cadogan Contemporary in London, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Breaking the Code, his feature-length documentary on artist Vernon Fisher, won the award for Best Historical Film at the 2023 Dallas International Film Festival and was broadcast by PBS on "Frame of Mind".
